CAN WE HOST EVENTS during COVID19 PANDEMIC Lockdown?  CAN you do so at level 4?

We are open for bookings - however there are only certain types of events we can hold, even under our COVID-safe measures. Room use must currently be work-related and be necessary professional courses, events or exams. We can host meetings for essential industries and services where those cannot be realistically postponed. For any course, training or similar requirement that we can run - participants must maintain a two metre distance and participant numbers in rooms are restricted to allow this to happen.  We are happy to discuss any potential event.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE ARRIVE?

We carefully signpost events externally and internally to help everyone gets settled in the right place and subtle but prompt attention can be provided for any hosting or technical point by (masked and gloved) on-site staff.

WHAT ROOM CONFIGURATIONS DO YOU OFFER?

Generally rooms in current COVID aware times are laid out in classroom style, exam-style or facing inwards to a central remote-presenter conference speaker / microphone for hybrid events.  If you would prefer something else however, please ask.

CAN I ACCESS MY ROOM BEFORE MY HIRING?

Trainers, facilitators and organisers can generally arrive c. 8:00 a.m. by arrangement, or if alternative prior access timing before that is important, please ask.

IS THE VENUE wheelchair accessIBLE?

Our training rooms and suites are accessible for wheelchair users and a wheelchair accessible toilet is located on the ground floor.
Software & EQUIPMENT

WHAT ARE YOUR INTERNET SPEEDS?

Fast. Our main internet connection is a 500MB synchronous Hyperoptic connection, firmly putting us amongst the strongest internet facilities in Glasgow. We also have additional 100MB and 150MB  backup connections - and can also provide wired Ethernet connections on request.

DO YOU PROVIDE TECH SUPPORT?

included as standard.  Our IT support team are experienced with software, hardware and internet usage and are available on-site throughout the entirety of your room booking.  

WHAT KIND OF SOFTWARE IS ON YOUR COMPUTERS?

Windows, Edge and Chrome, and we can supply Microsoft Office as standard if required.  If you need anything else of your own added, please let us know.

Can software be installed BEFORE EVENTS?

We can usually help with installing your own software or requirements in advance - providing this has been requested and agreed over a week ahead of booking start date.  This is free of charge (or discussable if expected to take more than 30 minutes) - or you can simply install files/apps on the day - USB access is available on all of our computers.

CAN i discuss further what i might need?

Please call or mail or ask for a Teams / Zoom discussion if you would like to talk over anything you may have in mind.  We are happy to talk over options, ideas and what might be possible.
invoicing & Payments

HOW ARE ROOMS PAID FOR? 

We prefer to invoice established organisations, for subsequent payment by BACS or cheque, however we can send secure payment links for card payments. 

WHEN does payment need to be made?

Unless other invoicing arrangements have been specifically agreed, all events must be paid for at least five working days before the first start date of any hire. On completion of the event, an additional or updated invoice may include any agreed additions and requested extras.

Do you HAVE ANY CHARITY DISCOUNTS?

We offer a 10% price reduction for registered charities.

What is your CANCELLATION policy?

If the Scottish or UK Governments declare any COVID 19 policy changes that mean that your event can no longer happen - there will be no cancellation charge for any event period that has still to take place. Under any other circumstances, if a decision is made to no longer proceed with an event owing to organiser / participant choice or inability to proceed - then we would appreciate two calendar weeks notice - and will have to charge at full cost for any cancellations made within five working days of any event start date.  Use link below to see full standard terms and conditions.

where are you?

Pentagon Building, on Washington Street, near the Argyle Street Glasgow Marriot hotel and right next to the Kingston Bridge.  Washington Street runs at right angles from  Argyle Street.  Or see local view ! 

WHERE CAN I PARK? 

There is a large ground-level open-air car park directly opposite us, currently c. £8.40 per day, and you can pay by card through RingGo. There are a number of other car parks in the immediate area too.

WHAT bus routes ARE NEARBY?

For bus travellers we recommend taking number 204, 205, 206, 214, 215 or 216 and stopping at the nearby Best Western Argyle or Marriot Hotels. 

WHICH train station should i use?

We recommend arriving from Anderston station - we are located diagonally across the road.  We are also around a 10 minute walk from Central Station, a similar time from Charing Cross, and a 19 minute walk from Glasgow Queen Street Station.
